Samantha came to me knowing exactly what she wanted for her Aspen wedding. A garden party. Roses everywhere. An intimate, family-only ceremony was followed by a larger reception for eighty guests at one of the most beautiful venues in Aspen. Six months to pull it off.
We found a historical Victorian house and garden tucked away in the west end of Aspen for the ceremony -- tall trees, flowering gardens, dappled shade, and a full arch of garden roses in peach, blush, coral and mauve designed by Alexandra Leydecker of Flower + Vine.
The reception moved to the Mountain Plaza courtyard at the St. Regis, where the design was a true collaboration between Samantha and me: custom bars and DJ booth in a shade of moss green Samantha and I chose together, mixed-patterned linens, and a dance floor wrapped in oversized watercolor roses. Murphy, the couple's golden lab puppy, had his portrait on the bar sign, and two cocktails named in his honor.
At the end of the night, after six months of daily conversations and the very real stress of planning a wedding in such a short window, I finally saw Samantha let go. She slipped behind the DJ booth with her new husband and sang along to a playlist built just for them. After six months of planning every detail, Samantha was able to stop thinking entirely, and just enjoy the night. That's the moment I work for.
